What happened: Shedeur Sanders has thrown an interception in each of his first two 2026 preseason appearances. Saturday marked his first home start of the preseason.

Why it matters: The outing is a key evaluation point in an active quarterback competition. The mistake offsets some of Sanders' early progress.

By the numbers: Sanders went 6-of-11 for 79 yards with one interception in his preseason opener. He completed his first four attempts Saturday and threw a touchdown pass on the opening possession.

What to watch: Sanders' final stat line and the next quarterback rotation will provide the next evaluation points.
