What happened: Gafford successfully converted from beyond the arc, showcasing an expanded offensive repertoire ahead of the upcoming schedule. The perimeter execution represents a notable departure from his established interior profile.

Why it matters: Opposing defenses have historically schemed for the center exclusively as a paint presence. Forcing defenders to honor an outside shot alters traditional drop-coverage assignments.

What to watch: Preseason utilization will clarify if this perimeter approach becomes a permanent tactical feature.
