What happened: Las Vegas claimed Darrell Luter Jr. from San Francisco off waivers after final roster cuts. He is expected to work as a backup outside corner and on coverage units.

Why it matters: His 32 3/8-inch arms and 4.46-second speed fit press assignments, while delayed changes of direction create risk in off coverage. Four other clubs filed claims, giving him the most interest of any player in that waiver cycle.

By the numbers: Luter played 342 defensive snaps over three seasons, including 275 and all three starts in 2025. He allowed 12 catches for 162 yards and two touchdowns on 18 targets last year, then limited preseason opponents to two catches for 18 yards on seven targets in 2026.
