What happened: South Carolina women's basketball head coach Dawn Staley attended the contest between the Indiana Fever and Las Vegas Aces to meet with former members of her collegiate program. During live regular-season action, Indiana held a 51-40 advantage over Las Vegas.

Why it matters: The visit continues a pattern of ongoing support, as Dawn Staley previously sat courtside for a June matchup between the Fever and the Atlanta Dream to back collegiate alumni. Both Las Vegas and Indiana feature active rosters with strong South Carolina connections as they compete for positioning in the 2026 WNBA regular-season standings.

By the numbers: Entering the contest, Las Vegas held a 17-8 regular-season record while averaging 90.1 points per game and allowing 85.9 points defensively. Indiana entered at 14-9 overall, averaging 93.8 points per outing, and previously defeated Las Vegas 84-68 on July 5.

What to watch: Both teams continue their 2026 regular-season schedules as they compete for postseason positioning in the standings.
