"I feel in my bones it's Yankees and Red Sox, then they're all fighting for one spot." DeRo's Top 5 difference makers i Via @MLBNetwork on X

What happened: MLB Network's DeRo revealed his top five difference makers for the American League Wild Card race. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. took the top spot, followed by Framber Valdez and Gunnar Henderson. Wyatt Langford and Jo Adell rounded out the list of pivotal players.

Why it matters: The AL Wild Card picture remains crowded entering late August. DeRo expressed confidence that the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox will secure two of the available berths, leaving multiple clubs to battle for the final spot. The designated difference makers feature a mix of established stars and young talent capable of swinging the playoff race.

By the numbers: The Yankees hold a 66-53 record this season, scoring 4.4 runs per game. The Baltimore Orioles sit at 59-61 and recently dropped a 3-1 decision to New York on August 18.

What to watch: The race for the final AL Wild Card spot will intensify as the regular season enters its final weeks.
