What happened: New Jersey is back on the ice Saturday, with attention shifting from the previous win to the next game on the calendar. The Devils are still in pregame mode for that matchup, which remains scheduled with the score at 0-0.

Why it matters: Saturday's work gives New Jersey a bridge between its last result and its next outing. With the matchup still only scheduled, the immediate significance is in preparation rather than any change on the scoreboard.

What to watch: Watch for any practice takeaways to carry into the next Devils game. Until puck drop, the game state stays scheduled at 0-0.
