What happened: Friday shifts the postseason conversation from Wild Card eliminations to the Division Series round. With the bracket now in place, attention turns to the next set of matchups and the immediate reset between rounds.

Why it matters: That transition matters because clubs now move from survive-and-advance games into a longer series format that puts more weight on rotation order and roster usage. Early Division Series decisions can shape the tone of a matchup before the first pitch.

What to watch: Watch for Division Series pitching plans and roster decisions as the round comes into focus. Those moves will offer the clearest read on how each club wants to attack the opening games.
