What happened: Los Angeles will open the National League Championship Series with Tarik Skubal on the mound for Game 1, followed by Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 2 against the Brewers. The rotation order was confirmed Saturday ahead of the series opener.

Why it matters: Positioning Yamamoto for the second contest provides him with his regular recovery time between starts. The schedule also allows the right-hander to pitch again on standard rest if a sixth game is necessary.

What to watch: The best-of-seven series begins Sunday at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
