What happened: Green Bay lists Valentine as a starter on its unofficial depth chart. Butler also links Cincinnati and Pittsburgh to inquiries about the cornerback's availability.

Why it matters: Miami coach Jeff Hafley worked with Valentine as Green Bay's defensive coordinator, giving the Dolphins direct familiarity with him. Valentine's hamstring issue and the Packers' cornerback depth concerns could complicate negotiations.

By the numbers: Valentine has started 30 of 49 career games, recording 107 tackles, 18 passes defensed, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

What to watch: Watch Green Bay's preseason cornerback rotation and Valentine's practice status as roster decisions approach.
