What happened: Donovan Mitchell drew a light Saturday spotlight for his creativity with the ball and general playmaking flair. The mention carried no roster, injury or transaction implication heading into the 2026-27 preseason.

Why it matters: That keeps this in the routine-visibility bucket rather than a meaningful basketball development. It arrives just after Mitchell signed a multi-year Adidas extension ahead of his 10th NBA season.

What to watch: Watch for a substantive Mitchell update once preseason play produces a lineup, injury or contract angle.
