What happened: Drake Maye earned AFC Offensive Player of the Month honors following an October turnaround. Maye credited the recovery from his early-season struggles to prioritizing the right play over forcing big plays. The quarterback noted that his decision-making markedly improved, restoring his joy on the field.

Why it matters: The award highlights Maye's progression after he rebounded with consecutive 90-QBR games in mid-October. The Patriots sit at 5-3 following a win in Miami and remain in the AFC playoff hunt heading into November.

What to watch: New England continues regular-season play as the NFL approaches the Nov. 10 trade deadline.
