What happened: Pre-race trackside proceedings have begun in Texas ahead of Sunday's MSC Cruises United States Grand Prix. The field completed its pre-grid circuit tour in Austin before teams prepare the cars for the starting grid.

Why it matters: Championship leader Kimi Antonelli holds the inside line on the front row for the steep climb into Turn 1. He lines up alongside Max Verstappen, who brought a Wild West helmet to Austin and said he was satisfied to secure a front-row berth after aiming higher in qualifying.

By the numbers: United States Grand Prix starting grid top five: P1 Kimi Antonelli (Italy), P2 Max Verstappen (Netherlands), P3 Isack Hadjar (France), P4 Charles Leclerc (Monaco), P5 Lewis Hamilton (Britain).

What to watch: Drivers return to the paddock for final strategy briefings before pit lane opens for grid assembly and the formation lap.
