What happened: The agreement runs through the 2027-28 season. Anaheim obtained his rights in a trade with Pittsburgh for future considerations one day earlier.

Why it matters: The deal converts a recently acquired prospect into a contracted 22-year-old forward before training camp. Pittsburgh receives future considerations after Lucius declined to sign with the organization.

By the numbers: Lucius recorded 15 goals and 31 assists last season. He totaled 41 goals and 124 points across 125 NCAA games.

What to watch: Anaheim begins its preseason schedule Sept. 20. Lucius' first organizational assignment should become clearer during training camp.
