What happened: Speaking alongside manager John Schneider, Dylan Cease addressed his reaction to receiving the starting nod. He noted that while he felt disappointed after missing the roster in 2022, earning the start this season makes up for it.

Why it matters: The All-Star recognition follows a dominant stretch heading into the break, during which Dylan Cease completed eight hitless innings with 11 strikeouts on July 8. His rotation anchoring has provided a bright spot for a Toronto club that entered the break with a 41-48 record.

What to watch: Cease takes the mound for his starting assignment during the All-Star exhibition. Following the break, Toronto resumes regular-season play.
