New story: Last night was supposed to be the debut of the Splash Bros. Deluxe starting lineup of Fox, Castle & Harp Via @JaredWeissNBA on X

What happened: The San Antonio Spurs' planned unveiling of a three-guard lineup was delayed when general soreness kept Fox sidelined Thursday. Harper instead started alongside Stephon Castle and Victor Wembanyama, anchoring the offense for the first unit.

Why it matters: San Antonio's backcourt dynamic shifted significantly following a recent Fox trade. With the veteran resting, Harper capitalized on the expanded usage, demonstrating immediate readiness for the professional level and validating his projected role.

By the numbers: Harper shot 5-of-7 from the field and 3-of-5 from three-point range, recording four rebounds and four assists in 19 minutes. Castle added 14 points on 62.5 percent shooting, while Wembanyama chipped in nine points and six boards.

What to watch: The Spurs will evaluate their guard rotation further as they await Fox's return to game action.
