What happened: Dylan Laube recorded a 95-yard kickoff return touchdown in Week 8. The play stands as the first kickoff return touchdown of the 2026 season. Through eight games in 2026, Laube has tallied five carries for nine yards and one rushing touchdown.

Why it matters: Restricting an athlete with genuine 95-yard breakaway speed to five carries over eight weeks wastes rare explosiveness. Modern offenses create manufactured touches in space for dynamic runners rather than burying them on the depth chart. Keeping elite burst confined strictly to return duty limits an offense that needs big plays.
