What happened: ESPN published a fresh MLB mock draft outlining how the first 40 picks could shake out, with the Chicago White Sox positioned as a focal point of the projection. The piece walks readers through team-by-team scenarios heading into the 2026 MLB Draft.

Why it matters: The White Sox are mid-rebuild and the draft remains one of the few near-term levers for restocking a thin farm system. A high pick paired with a deep talent class makes Chicago's selection a referendum on the front office's direction and a key data point for fans tracking the rebuild timeline.

What to watch: Watch for follow-up mocks closer to draft night and any pre-draft workouts or private showcases that move Chicago's board. Industry consensus typically tightens in the final two weeks.
