What happened: The Atlanta Falcons have downgraded defensive end Za'Darius Smith to out for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens. The veteran pass rusher was initially listed as questionable but will not dress.

Why it matters: His absence removes a starting edge rusher from Atlanta's defensive front. The team will be forced to rely on rotational depth on the defensive line to generate pressure against Baltimore's rushing attack.

What to watch: Atlanta will turn to its remaining roster depth to fill Smith's snaps off the edge.
