Stefanski: At this point, Jack will work with the 2s and 3s. We're very excited about his development. #Falcons Via @marcraimondi on X

What happened: Kevin Stefanski said Atlanta is encouraged by the rookie quarterback’s development. Strand completed 12 of 17 passes for 212 yards and accounted for two touchdowns in Saturday’s 34-6 preseason win.

Why it matters: The shift comes two days after Michael Penix Jr. was cleared for full-team work, adding another active arm to Atlanta’s quarterback evaluation. Strand’s preseason performance strengthens his case for a spot on the 53-man roster.

By the numbers: Strand averaged 12.5 yards per attempt with one passing touchdown, no interceptions and a 132.5 passer rating against Indianapolis. He also scored on a 16-yard run.

What to watch: Atlanta’s remaining practices will clarify Strand’s place in the rotation before final roster cuts.
