What happened: The Atlanta Falcons ruled out defensive back Billy Bowman Jr., inside linebacker Divine Deablo, wide receiver Beaux Collins, and offensive tackle Cameron Williams for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Atlanta also elevated running back Khalil Herbert and linebacker Brian Asamoah II to the active roster from the practice squad. The transaction represents the second elevation of the season for both Herbert and Asamoah.

Why it matters: The roster moves leave Atlanta short-handed defensively, especially in the secondary where Bowman has been sidelined by a hamstring issue. At 3-4, the ninth-seeded Falcons seek to maintain ground in the NFC playoff hunt following their 29-20 win over San Francisco. Tampa Bay enters Sunday's divisional matchup at 2-5 and holds the conference's 12th seed.

By the numbers: Herbert registered 93 all-purpose yards last week, including 65 yards on two kickoff returns and 28 yards from scrimmage on three touches. Asamoah recorded one tackle across 11 special teams snaps in Atlanta's previous contest.

What to watch: The Falcons take on the Buccaneers on Sunday as Herbert and Asamoah prepare to absorb key special teams and depth snaps.
