What happened: Atlanta Falcons coach Kevin Stefanski said the team will use the time leading up to kickoff to evaluate left tackle Jake Matthews. Stefanski noted that the lineman is showing improvement.

Why it matters: The veteran is dealing with an issue but remains on the verge of a major milestone. If he starts Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens, he will become just the fifth offensive lineman in NFL history to reach 200 consecutive starts.

By the numbers: Matthews currently holds a 199-game starting streak.

What to watch: The Falcons will make a final determination on his availability closer to Sunday night's kickoff.
