Happy to have you back, 7️⃣7️⃣! Filip Chytil on track to return to action tonight. https://t.co/xsokbCRVKS Via @Canucks on X

What happened: Vancouver Canucks forward Filip Chytil is slated to return to action tonight after being placed on injured reserve on Sept. 26. The 27-year-old resumed skating after rejoining the club on Long Island and addressed reporters alongside head coach Manny Malhotra ahead of tonight's contest.

Why it matters: Activating Chytil gives Malhotra an immediate reinforcement down the middle for his 2026-27 regular-season debut after Vancouver fell 3-2 to the New York Islanders earlier on the road trip.

What to watch: Vancouver takes on the Florida Panthers in Sunrise with puck drop set for 4:00 p.m. PT on Sportsnet Pacific.
