What happened: Minnesota coach Chris Finch said shot selection was a point of emphasis with LaMelo Ball entering camp. Finch said Ball has taken few out-of-context shots so far. He added the deep 3s are falling, comparing that range to Steph Curry's.

Why it matters: Ball is set to pair with Anthony Edwards in the backcourt for the 2026-27 season, making shot profile central to Minnesota's offense. A cleaner selection would support the early camp lift around Ball after Minnesota dropped its preseason opener 123-112.
