What happened: The deal was completed Sept. 4 after Fuhr spent four seasons with St. Louis. His lone Calgary season became the final stop of his NHL career.
Why it matters: Calgary had used six goaltenders in 1998-99 and missed the playoffs at 30-40-12. Fuhr returned to Alberta after winning five Stanley Cups with Edmonton in the 1980s.
By the numbers: Fuhr went 5-13-2 with an .856 save percentage in 23 games for Calgary. He had posted a 108-87-41 record across 249 games with St. Louis, including 79 appearances in 1995-96.
