What happened: Calgary promoted the 21-year-old from the AHL Wranglers following a strong start to his 2026-27 minor league campaign. He takes a roster spot opened by the AHL assignments of Connor Zary and Brayden Pachal.

Why it matters: Castagna skated between Aydar Suniev and Adam Klapka during his initial session with the club. The forward was originally selected by Arizona in the third round of the 2023 draft before arriving in the Flames organization.

What to watch: Castagna is expected to debut Thursday against the Colorado Avalanche.
