Four Canadian hockey players remain suspended after appeal ruling

The bans expire between November 2026 and November 2030.

What happened: An independent appeal board found that five members of Canada's 2018 world junior team breached Hockey Canada's code of conduct. The disciplinary decision followed their July 2025 acquittals on sexual assault charges.

Why it matters: The sanctions apply only to Hockey Canada-sanctioned programs and do not alter NHL eligibility. The ruling closes the organization's appeal process.
