What happened: MLBONFOX published a 26-player dream roster drawn from 21st century players. The selections were divided between American League and National League sides, with background on each choice posted alongside the announcement.

Why it matters: The exercise arrived during the 2026 postseason as league pennant winners were settled. It functions as era comparison and fan debate, with no effect on active rosters or series planning.

What to watch: Debate over selections and omissions is likely to continue through the World Series.
