What happened: Frank Seravalli discussed Edmonton Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard as a potential Hart Trophy candidate on Thursday's episode of Frankly Hockey. The host highlighted the start to the year, noting it looks like a special season for the blueliner.

Why it matters: Bouchard's offensive production from the back end has drawn early attention. Edmonton coach Mike Babcock recently called the defenseman an elite talent who is continuing to elevate his overall game.

What to watch: Bouchard will aim to maintain his scoring pace as Edmonton proceeds through its remaining preseason schedule.
