What happened: SC Freiburg eliminated Braga to qualify for the Europa League final, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano. The German side will face Aston Villa in the final. The result marks Freiburg's first appearance in a major European final.

Why it matters: This is a landmark achievement for Freiburg, a club that has historically punched above its weight in the Bundesliga but never reached this stage of European competition. The final also carries significant Premier League implications: Aston Villa's path in the competition has direct knock-on effects for Champions League qualification battles involving Chelsea and others. A European trophy run reshapes Freiburg's continental profile heading into next season.

What to watch: Watch for the Europa League final date and venue confirmation, plus Aston Villa's remaining Premier League fixtures, which will determine whether a Villa trophy could open a Champions League slot for Chelsea.
