What happened: Miami opens its preseason against Toronto at 7 p.m. ET on NBA TV. The new duo framed the matchup as a meeting of two highly competitive stars, calling it "fire being with fire."

Why it matters: The opener is the first outside look at Miami's reworked core ahead of the 2026-27 season. On Friday, Adebayo called the Giannis pairing a transition nightmare for defenses, so the first live run carries immediate lineup and fit intrigue.

What to watch: Watch how much floor time the pair gets together and whether Miami leans into shared transition actions right away. Toronto also gets its first preseason run in the neutral-site opener.
