What happened: The New York Giants secured a Week 7 overtime victory over the Houston Texans on Sunday with a walk-off play in the extra session. Neither club settled the interconference matchup in regulation before New York ended the contest on the final play of overtime.

Why it matters: The result strengthens New York's NFC positioning after the club carried a winning mark into Sunday's slate. For Houston, the road loss stalls its push to climb back into the AFC playoff race.

By the numbers: New York improves from 3-2-1 to 4-2-1 through Week 7, while Houston drops from 2-4 to 2-5 after opening the 2026 campaign 0-4.

What to watch: Both teams shift to Week 8 preparation as the 2026 NFL regular season approaches its midpoint.
