What happened: Mike Garafolo later pointed to the snap tied to the penalty Jordan Raanan had mentioned earlier this week. The league's discipline was for illegal helmet contact on a running play against Tennessee.

Why it matters: The decision puts Skattebo on the league's discipline sheet early in the 2026 season and adds a financial hit to a routine offensive snap. It also keeps attention on Cam Skattebo, the New York back drafted 105th overall in 2025.

What to watch: Watch for any follow-up from New York on coaching points tied to the penalty as the Giants move into their next game.
