What happened: New York Giants GM Joe Schoen stated the team had Arvell Reese as their highest-rated non-quarterback prospect entering the 2026 NFL Draft. LB Mauigoa ranked in their top five overall. Comments came amid pre-draft talks with the Giants holding the No. 3 pick.

Why it matters: Reveals Giants' defensive priorities if QBs dominate top two picks. Shifts betting focus to Reese props amid rebuild. Historical context: Schoen's board accurate in past drafts like Thibodeaux at No. 5.

By the numbers: Giants draft position: #3 overall (4-13 record, 2025 season). Arvell Reese (DT, Ohio St.): 2025 stats - 12 sacks, 45 tackles; Mauigoa (LB, Michigan): 2025 stats - 110 tackles, 4 INTs; Consensus top-10 projection.

What to watch: Monitor Giants' No. 3 pick Thursday. Reese frequently mocked to NYG.
