What happened: Allen joined New York on April 13 as the third quarterback on the roster. His exit comes during the final reduction to the 53-man limit.

Why it matters: The move trims a veteran option from the Giants' quarterback room before the 2026 opener. Allen now enters the market as teams set their active rosters and practice squads.

By the numbers: Allen was listed with 10 NFL seasons of experience. His Giants tenure lasted 139 days.

What to watch: Watch whether Allen signs elsewhere after final cuts or returns to New York's practice squad.
