What happened: The New York Giants chose University of Miami offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa with the 10th pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Adam Schefter reported the selection as the draft progressed in its early stages. Mauigoa, a highly touted prospect, fills a key positional gap for the Giants.

Why it matters: New York's offensive line ranked 30th in pass block win rate last season, exposing QB vulnerabilities. Mauigoa's addition boosts protection and run support, elevating Giants' 2026 playoff. Impacts with win total jumping half-point.

By the numbers: Draft slot: No. 10 overall (Giants' first-rounder). Mauigoa 2025 stats: 1,028 snaps, 92.1 PFF pass-block grade, 1 sack allowed. Giants 2025 O-line: 28th in sacks allowed (52). Futures: Giants win .5 to 8.0 over).

What to watch: Monitor Round 1 reactions, Mauigoa's pro day footage, and Giants' Day 2 targets for secondary needs.
