What happened: On Gils Arena, Gilbert Arenas said Anthony Edwards put the league on notice for Minnesota's edge this season. Nick Young and Evan Turner framed the talk as confidence backed by LaMelo Ball and Jaden McDaniels alongside him. Edwards also handed out Believe That Awards including honors claimed by Justin Bieber and McDaniels.

Why it matters: Minnesota enters the upcoming 2026-27 season with attention on chemistry among its young core. The hosts tied the blunt talk to practice energy and a high-end backcourt pairing. That framing sets early expectations before results decide the order.

What to watch: Minnesota's preseason slate will show whether the talk carries onto the floor. Edwards' availability and opening rotations are the next checkpoints.
