What happened: Cleveland Guardians manager Steven Vogt announced Gavin Williams will start a decisive Game 5. Vogt stated that Williams asked for the assignment and the team will let the game dictate his workload.

Why it matters: Williams is pitching on short rest after closing out Cleveland's victory in Game 4. Vogt previously addressed using him in relief, but the quick turnaround highlights the urgency of the elimination game.

What to watch: The Guardians will monitor his pitch count closely as they navigate the win-or-go-home matchup.
