What happened: Per The Athletic, Esteban Ocon pleaded with his engineer over tire choice Friday afternoon, appeared in a Haas Halloween video Saturday morning, and had his name removed from the garage wall two hours later. Haas then dropped Ocon for the rest of the Mexico City Grand Prix weekend, with reserve driver Ryo Hirakawa taking the car.

Why it matters: The Athletic reports that what happened between the radio exchange and the garage-wall removal could finish Ocon's F1 career. Haas has already signed Rafael Camara to a multi-year deal starting in 2027.

By the numbers: Hirakawa was classified 10th in the Mexico City Grand Prix, won by Max Verstappen.

What to watch: Haas' driver lineup for the next round is the item to watch.
