Lewis Hamilton's statement apologising to Ferrari for his costly decision to override their strategy call during the Sin Via @SkySportsF1 on X

What happened: Hamilton overrode a virtual-safety-car pit call and extended a soft-tire stint to the flag at Marina Bay. He fell from third on the grid to sixth, while teammate Leclerc finished second on fresher rubber.

Why it matters: The call cost Ferrari points with both cars in podium range at the start. Leclerc's pace on the alternate strategy underlined the position lost on Hamilton's side of the garage.

By the numbers: Singapore top three: Verstappen P1 from pole, Leclerc P2 from P2, Antonelli P3; Hamilton P6 from P3; Norris P4, Piastri P5 completed the top five.

What to watch: Watch Ferrari's debrief and how pit-wall authority is handled at the next round.
