What happened: Lewis Hamilton stated he pushed for intermediate tires before Ferrari opted for a slick compound at the Bahrain Grand Prix. The decision led to a disastrous beginning to the race.

Why it matters: The strategy miscalculation compromised track position early in the event. Hamilton eventually recovered to finish third on the podium, trailing Kimi Antonelli and race winner Max Verstappen.

By the numbers: Verstappen converted his pole position into his first victory of the season. Charles Leclerc crossed the finish line in fourth after qualifying fifth on the starting grid.

What to watch: The team will evaluate its pit-wall decision process and internal weather communication protocols.
