What happened: The former Arizona guard was the No. 44 pick in the 2024 draft and has turned into a regular part of Miami's rotation in two seasons. He moved from a developmental role early in his career to a dependable backcourt piece last year.

Why it matters: The move follows the larger rotation role Miami lined up for Larsson and keeps him off next summer's restricted free-agent market. It also gives the Heat more continuity as they shape their 2026-27 roster around offseason additions Giannis Antetokounmpo and Klay Thompson.

What to watch: Training camp will show whether Larsson keeps a starting-level workload or shifts into a deeper guard mix. Keshad Johnson is another younger Heat piece to watch as Miami balances development with a veteran-leaning roster.
