What happened: On Ariel Helwani Show, Ariel Helwani said he attended the New York Knicks banner and ring ceremony at Madison Square Garden with his children. He then held his own raising of a 2025-26 world champions banner in the studio.

Why it matters: Helwani said the night closed a 53-year championship wait and his own 36 years as a fan since 1990. He described championship rings that open to reveal Madison Square Garden and gold-trimmed jerseys worn for the ceremony.

By the numbers: 53-year title wait cited; 36 years as a fan since 1990; banner reads 2025-26 world champions.

What to watch: Alex Pereira and Plinio Cruz are set to join in studio later in the program.
