What happened: Milwaukee's Logan Henderson took the mound against Los Angeles' Tarik Skubal on Sunday, with the Brewers leading 2-1 in the series and the game itself live at 2-1. Both pitchers spent the summer as subjects of trade speculation before instead starting against one another.

Why it matters: Skubal's name surfaced repeatedly in Los Angeles' deadline rumors, including reports that had the Dodgers emerging as the frontrunner for him before the deadline passed. Milwaukee, meanwhile, had been described as weighing rotation help of its own rather than moving Henderson.

What to watch: The series stands 2-1 for Milwaukee with Sunday's game still in progress.
