Led by one with 25 seconds left at Jacksonville 34

What happened: Philadelphia reached the Jacksonville 34 on a 17-yard throw from Jalen Hurts to Dallas Goedert with 25 seconds left in a one-point game. The Eagles followed with an incompletion, a seven-yard catch by Makai Lemon that finished out of bounds, and a three-yard loss on a run before kicking a field goal with 12 seconds left. Eight seconds remained after the kick, and Hurts said he went home wondering whether he should have stopped to question the sequence.

Why it matters: The lost yardage and stopped clock preserved Jacksonville's final timeout and left time for a return possession after the go-ahead kick. Sirianni said the quarterback executes the call in that situation while coaches make the decisions, and defended continuing to push the ball forward to shorten the kick.

By the numbers: Clock sequence: 25 seconds at first down, 21 after incompletion, 17 after Lemon's 7-yard catch, 12 at Jacksonville's final timeout, 8 after the field goal. In 2025, Hurts completed 294 of 454 passes for 3,224 yards with 25 touchdowns and 6 interceptions in 16 games; Goedert caught 60 passes for 591 yards and 11 touchdowns in 15 games.

What to watch: The next close finish will show whether Philadelphia stays aggressive near field-goal range or leaves less time by staying in bounds and running earlier.
