What happened: Iowa will start quarterback Jeremy Hecklinski against Washington, marking the first collegiate start for the third-year transfer. Hank Brown is not expected to play but could be available in an emergency role.

Why it matters: The quarterback change gives Hecklinski, who joined the program from Wake Forest, an opportunity to lead the offense. The team turns to the backup as they adjust their lineup on the road.

What to watch: Iowa will monitor the quarterback position as Hecklinski takes his first snaps as a collegiate starter.
