“These three pitches that we’ve seen play at the Major League level.” Jacob Misiorowski impressed Jake Peavy at the 202

What happened: A 2022 MLB Draft Combine evaluation has resurfaced in which former Cy Young winner Jake Peavy lauded Jacob Misiorowski's three-pitch repertoire as offerings that would play at the Major League level. The praise centered on the right-hander's arsenal during his pre-draft showcase.

Why it matters: The retrospective lands differently now that Misiorowski has reached the majors and become one of the sport's hardest-throwing arms, validating the early projection. It is a reminder of how quickly a draft-combine standout can turn scouting buzz into a big-league reality.

By the numbers: Misiorowski has since backed the projection at the top level, where he hit a historic 105 mph and fanned 10 over seven scoreless innings earlier this season.

What to watch: Watch whether the same three pitches that drew Peavy's praise continue to anchor Misiorowski's rotation role through the 2026 season.
