What happened: The source signal shows McLaughlin finishing a touchdown, and reactions in the context pack identify it as a 28-yard score. That came shortly after his promotion following a running back injury, which moved him from roster depth into a live offensive opportunity.

Why it matters: Explosive touchdowns are the fastest way for a reserve back to demand more snaps. Wire Report coverage has now tied McLaughlin to a catch-and-run touchdown on Aug. 29 and this Thursday score, which is enough evidence to argue his role should grow instead of staying limited.
