What happened: Joel Faglier declared UFC title ambitions following his second-round TKO victory over Javad Mahjoub in his Octagon debut on the UFC Edmonton preliminary card. Faglier survived multiple early knockdowns before rallying to finish the fight in the second frame, calling the debut win a dream come true.

Why it matters: Securing a finish in a UFC debut after overcoming early adversity immediately establishes Faglier on the promotion's roster. Debut stoppages on a preliminary card frequently position newcomers for heightened matchmaking visibility in their sophomore appearances.

What to watch: The UFC will determine Faglier's next booking and timetable following post-fight medical clearances from the Edmonton card.
