What happened: Jon Jones responded to claims that his negative energy caused Gable Steveson's recent defeat. The veteran fighter rejected the criticism, pointing out that Steveson secured first-round finishes against every opponent prior to the loss.

Why it matters: Steveson suffered a knockout defeat at UFC 331, drawing scrutiny over his training environment. Daniel Cormier previously criticized Steveson for leaving the cage before the hand raise. The public defense from Jones highlights the continued attention on the prospect's early career in mixed martial arts.

What to watch: Steveson looks to rebound from the setback as he continues his transition to the sport.
