What happened: Jonathan Owens is making an early impression during the Indianapolis Colts' mandatory minicamp, showcasing the range that earned him a one-year deal this spring. The veteran safety is working to integrate into a reconstructed secondary alongside Cam Bynum and Juanyeh Thomas.

Why it matters: The Colts are prioritizing versatility in their defensive backfield, with coordinator Lou Anarumo utilizing Owens in multiple coverage shells. After adding him in free agency, Indianapolis expects Owens to provide a veteran floor and special teams value for the upcoming 2026 season.

What to watch: The Colts will conclude their offseason program this week before breaking for the summer ahead of July training camp.
